Similajau National Park
Located just 30 kilometres northeast of Bintulu, Similajau National Park offers a series of golden sandy beaches where the emerald green waters are crystal clear and ideal for swimming during the dry season (approximately February to October). Here you can even go along jungle trails such as View Point Trail, visit the Turtle Beach and Golden Beach where you can find salt-water crocodiles. Activities such as night cruise along Sungai Likau, dolphins watch and night walk can also be found here.

Niah Cave
Niah Cave, gazette as Niah National Park in 1975 is known to be the site where a 40,000 year old human remains were discovered. One of the main tourist attraction in Miri – Niah National Park offers a variety of activities such as jungle walk, Iban longhouse and cave experiences. The cave consists of several caves – The Great Cave, Painted Cave and the Large Chamber or Padang where you can see different species of flora and fauna, wildlife and paintings of the ‘death ship’ which is a boat that resembles coffins.

Lambir Hill National Park
Spread across 7,000 hectares, around 1,050 different species of trees where each supports 1,200 species of insects can be found. Scientists recognize Lambir Hills as one of the world’s most ecologically diverse areas. 157 types of birds that live in the park can also be seen as well as other wild animals including Gibbons, Tarsiers and clouded leopard. At this park, you can find activities such as jungle trekking, swimming, nature education, bird watching, photography and so on.

Tanjung Batu Beach
Tanjung Batu Beach is an ideal place for picnics, fishing or camping with families and friends. Enjoy the sun, sea and sandy beaches. There are also changing and washrooms available as well as barbecue pits. Stalls that sell food and drinks can be found nearby – offering ice cream, coconut juice and “satay and rojak”. Stroll through the beach while watching the sunset.

Loagan Bunut National Park
Loagan Bunut presents a unique ecosystem based on Sarawak’s largest natural lake covering about 650 hectares. It takes roughly 3 hours by four-wheel drive from Miri to get to this park. The source of water comes from Baram River, Tinjar River and Bunut River. A variety of animals and birds can be spotted here such as bearded pig, civet, mouse deer, squirrel, hornbills, kingfishers and so on. There are boat trips that can be arranged to explore the lake as well as jungle trekking trails to explore the flora and fauna of the park.
